To understand and give information about going shopping, you need to know how to:

  • greet and interact with staff in a shop

  • say what item(s) you want to buy

  • use colours when describing items

  • use larger numbers in the context of prices

You need to understand larger numbers and prices for the topic of shopping:

  • Spain uses the euro like many other European countries

  • In Spanish, the euro sign € comes at the end of the price, and there is a comma instead of a decimal point

  • Here is a reminder of how to say ‘tens’ numbers in Spanish:

  • To say ‘two hundred’, ‘three hundred’, etc., add the number before ‘ciento’ and make it plural, e.g. doscientos, trescientos
