An entrepreneur is someone who brings together the factors of production - land, labour, capital, and enterprise - to create and run a business
Entrepreneurs play a key role in spotting opportunities, taking risks and driving innovation

Common skills and qualities of entrepreneurs

Skill or quality	Explanation
Creativity	Coming up with fresh ideas or finding better ways to meet customer needs, helping the business stand out
Leadership	Taking responsibility, motivating others, and guiding a team towards achieving goals
Risk-taking	Being prepared to take chances with money, time or resources, knowing there is no guarantee of success
Decision-making	Choosing between different options, such as which location to open in or which suppliers to use
Communication	Sharing ideas clearly with staff, investors, banks and customers to gain support and build confidence
Knowledge of marketing	Understanding how to set the right price, choose effective promotions and get the product to the right market
Resilience	Staying motivated, determined and persistent when challenges arise
Spotting opportunities	Recognising a gap in the market where a product or service can succeed
