Rational-Legal Authority is a concept developed by Weber. It is a type of leadership where power is given to leaders because of a set of rules or laws. This authority is based on a clear and legal system that everyone agrees to follow. For example, in a democracy, people vote to elect leaders, and those leaders have power because they were chosen according to the law. This is different from other types of authority, like traditional authority, where power is inherited, or charismatic authority, where power comes from someone's personal charm. Rational-Legal Authority is important because it helps societies run smoothly by having predictable and understandable rules.
