An IGCSE is the international equivalent of a GCSE qualification.
IGCSE stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education.
The IGCSE can be taken by students overseas or privately in the UK. IGCSEs cannot be taken by students in state schools in the UK. The content is usually very similar to the GCSEs, although the IGCSEs may offer alternatives to coursework.
IGCSE exams cost from £218 per subject, although the cost is higher for exams with additional elements such as languages.
Results for CIE IGCSEs are released on the 16th of August 2023, and results for Edexcel IGCSE are released on the 24th of August 2023.
Studying for IGCSEs in the UK either at a private school or through a private provider. IGCSEs cannot be taken by students at state schools in the UK.
