Leander has been creating amazing physics content for Save My Exams since 2022 and is now the Subject Lead for Physics and Chemistry.
Before working at Save My Exams, Leander was a teacher of Key Stage 3 and GCSE Physics, Chemistry and Biology for several years before moving into the online world of teaching and tutoring.
Leander has worked for a number of EdTech companies, and was Lead Tutor of Sciences for an online education provider, where she created courses for, and tutored hundreds of students through their study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Human Biology at GCSE and A Level. Leander is particularly proud of her contribution to enabling hundreds of home-schooled students and adult learners to gain their qualifications during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Leander particularly loves helping students navigate common misconceptions so that they can gain a deeper understanding of how the Universe works.
Leander considers herself to be a life-long learner. Her journey of adult education began in an English Language & Literature night school and took her on a wonderful adventure from Creative Writing to History and finally to Philosophy which is where she fell in love with Physics. Her pursuit to discover the truths about life led her, inevitably, to the study of the whole Universe.
In her spare time, Leander enjoys spending time with her family and friends, trying to grow vegetables, reading in the sunshine and knitting by the fire.
In her graduation year, Leander won the prestigious Lord Robert Winston Solomon Lipson Prize in recognition of her dedication to science and teaching excellence.
Leander graduated with a First Class BSc in Science and Education from Sheffield Hallam University.
Leander’s specialism is in Physics, but she has equal experience in both teaching and tutoring for Biology, Chemistry and Maths
Leander has experience teaching and tutoring a range of exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, CIE and OCR, at GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and International A Level
