In GCSE Maths, the term 'figures' generally refers to numbers, symbols, or shapes that are used in mathematical problems and solutions. Figures can include digits like 0-9 which make up larger numbers, as well as mathematical symbols such as '+' or '='. In geometry, figures can also mean shapes like triangles, squares, or circles. Understanding figures is essential because they are the basic building blocks used in calculations, equations, and problem-solving across different areas of maths.
