Multiple - GCSE Maths Definition

In mathematics, a multiple is a number that you get when you multiply one whole number by another. For example, if you take the number 3 and multiply it by 2, you get 6, which means 6 is a multiple of both 3 and 2.
Think of multiples like steps on a number line that you reach by adding the same number over and over. So, the multiples of 5 would be 5, 10, 15, 20, and so on.
Understanding multiples is important because they help you solve problems related to division, fractions, and finding common multiples of different numbers.
