A logic gate is a small device used in electronics to control the flow of electricity. The NOT gate is one type of logic gate, and it's also called an inverter because it flips its input. This means that if you put a '1' (representing ON or TRUE) into a NOT gate, it will give you a '0' (representing OFF or FALSE) as output. Similarly, if you input a '0', the NOT gate will output a '1'. The NOT gate is very important in computer science because it helps make decisions by changing the signal from positive to negative, or vice versa.
