Submerge - GCSE Physics Definition

In GCSE Physics, the term 'submerge' means to put something completely under the surface of a liquid, like water. For example, if you drop a stone into a pond, the stone becomes submerged when it goes below the water. In experiments, students might submerge objects to see how they displace water or to learn about the forces acting on them when they are underwater.
