Visible light is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be seen by the human eye. It includes all the colours we can see, ranging from red to violet. These colours make up white light, like sunlight, which can be split into a rainbow using a prism. Each colour in the visible spectrum has a different wavelength, with red having the longest and violet the shortest. Visible light is essential for helping us see the world around us and plays a key role in other areas such as photosynthesis and various technologies, including cameras and optical fibres.
