Voltmeter - GCSE Physics Definition

A voltmeter is a device used to measure the electrical potential difference, or voltage, between two points in an electric circuit. It helps us to see how strong the electrical push is in a circuit, and measures the quantity in volts (V). In a typical experiment, you'll connect the voltmeter in parallel with the part of the circuit you want to measure. Understanding how to use a voltmeter is important in GCSE Physics, as it helps to determine other quantities within a circuit, such as current and resistance.
