Storage cost - GCSE Computer Science Definition

Storage cost refers to the price you pay to keep data saved in a digital format, like on a hard drive or in the cloud. This cost can include things like buying the equipment to store data, paying for electricity to keep it running, and sometimes paying for online services that safely store your information over the internet. In computer science, understanding storage cost is important because it helps you decide the most efficient and affordable way to save and access data. When we consider secondary storage devices, we might consider the cost per GB to decide which is the best device for the job. Just like you might choose a bigger or smaller notebook based on how much writing you need to do, in computing, you figure out how much storage you need based on the amount of data you have and are willing to pay for.
