Mass - GCSE Maths Definition

Mass is a measure of how much matter is in an object, which is related to how heavy something is. It is often measured in kilograms (kg) or grams (g).
Unlike weight, which can change depending on where you are (like on the Moon), mass stays the same because it only depends on how much stuff is in the object. For example, a brick and a sponge might be the same size, but the brick has more mass because it has more matter.
Mass is an important concept in maths and science because it helps us understand how objects move and interact with each other.
