In GCSE Religious Studies, 'Akhirah' refers to the Islamic concept of life after death. It is a fundamental belief in Islam that signifies the eternal life that follows the present earthly existence. According to Islamic teachings, after death, individuals will be resurrected and judged by Allah based on their actions and intentions during their lifetime. This judgement determines whether they enter Paradise (Jannah) or Hell (Jahannam). Akhirah underlines the importance of moral conduct and accountability in life, encouraging Muslims to live righteously and adhere to the teachings of the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad. Understanding Akhirah helps students appreciate the significance of the afterlife in shaping ethical behaviour and religious practices within Islam.
