In GCSE History, submission refers to the action of accepting the authority of another or yielding to a superior force. This often involves a group or country acknowledging the power or control of another, usually after a conflict or negotiation. For example, in history, a defeated country might show submission by agreeing to the terms of the victor, such as paying reparations or relinquishing certain territories. Submission can be an important concept when discussing historical events like wars, treaties, and the expansion of empires.
