In GCSE Psychology, symptoms refer to any signs or changes in a person's body or mind that can indicate a condition or illness. These can be physical, such as feeling tired or having a headache, or mental, such as feeling sad or anxious. Symptoms help psychologists and doctors understand what might be happening in a person's body or mind. For example, someone dealing with stress might have symptoms such as trouble sleeping, feeling worried, or being easily upset. Recognising and understanding symptoms is important because they can guide professionals in diagnosing and treating different psychological or physical health issues.
