Pruning - GCSE Biology Definition

Pruning is the process of cutting away parts of a plant, such as branches, stems, or leaves, to improve its growth, shape, and health. Pruning helps the plant focus its energy on growing flowers, fruit, or new shoots. It can also prevent the spread of disease, improve air flow, and allow more sunlight to reach all parts of the plant. Pruning is an important horticultural technique used by gardeners and farmers to enhance plant health and increase crop yield.
