Range Bar - GCSE Biology Definition

In GCSE Biology, a range bar is a visual tool used in graphs to show how much variation exists in a set of data. When scientists collect measurements, such as the height of plants or the size of animal populations, repeats of measurements can differ. A range bar shows the spread of the data by marking the lowest and highest values. This helps students understand how consistent or varied the data is, and can be useful when analysing experiments to see whether results are similar or very different from each other.
