In GCSE Psychology, 'properties' refer to the characteristics or features that help us understand and describe something, such as an object, idea, or behaviour. For example, in psychology, we might look at the properties of a psychological disorder, exploring characteristics like symptoms, duration, and effects on behaviour. Understanding the properties of something allows us to gain a clear picture of how it works or affects people. By studying the properties of different psychological concepts, we can better understand human thought, emotions, and actions.
