Resolving Power - GCSE Biology Definition

Resolving power in biology refers to the ability of a microscope to distinguish two close objects as separate. A microscope with higher resolving power can show fine details more clearly, allowing smaller structures like the nucleus, mitochondria, or chloroplasts to be seen. A higher resolving power helps scientists and students observe cells and their components more accurately, improving understanding of how cells function.
