Ebola is a severe and often deadly disease caused by the Ebola virus. It mainly spreads through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person or animal, such as blood, sweat, or saliva. The virus damages the immune system, leading to symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, and in severe cases, bleeding. Outbreaks usually occur in certain African countries and can be controlled through proper medical care and public health measures. Understanding how viruses like Ebola spread and affect the body is an important part of studying diseases in GCSE Biology.
