Plasma is the liquid part of blood that carries blood cells and many other important substances around the body. It is a yellowish fluid that makes up more than half of the blood. Plasma transports nutrients, hormones, and proteins to where they are needed, and it also helps remove waste products. It plays a key role in maintaining blood pressure, regulating body temperature, and supporting the immune system by carrying antibodies that help fight infections.
