Trend - GCSE Biology Definition

In GCSE Biology, a 'trend' refers to a general direction or pattern that is observed in data or results over time or across different conditions. For example, when looking at a graph showing increasing plant growth with greater light exposure, the upward slope of the line indicates a trend. Trends help scientists make predictions and understand how certain factors affect living organisms. Recognising trends is important because it allows biologists to draw conclusions and suggest reasons for the patterns they see in experiments and natural observations.
