Week - GCSE Maths Definition

A week is a unit of time. It is a period of 7 days. In reference to a calendar, strictly speaking, a week begins on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday. As school and working weeks run from Monday to Friday, it is common for a week to be considered as starting on a Monday and ending on a Sunday. You probably have a weekly - or fortnightly (two weeks) - timetable for school. A week can refer to the 7-day period between any two days of the week; for example, "I go swimming once a week, every Wednesday". Weeks give us a short to medium term way of relating events to each other and scheduling future plans.
In GCSE Mathematics, you may have to calculate time periods in weeks; for example, working out how many weeks it would take to save £77 at a rate of £3.50 per week.
