Stewardship is the idea of taking care of something that is not yours in a responsible and caring way. In GCSE Religious Studies, the concept of stewardship refers to the idea that humans are viewed as caretakers of the Earth and its resources, which many believe have been entrusted to them by God. This means that people should look after the environment, animals, and one another, ensuring that their actions benefit future generations as well. Studying the concept of stewardship enables students to understand the moral, ethical, and practical motivation behind the actions of religious believers in protecting the planet and using its resources sustainably.
