The term "universe" refers to the entirety of space, time, matter, and energy that exists. In the context of GCSE Religious Studies, the universe is often discussed in relation to questions about its origin, nature, and purpose. Different religious and philosophical perspectives offer various explanations for the origin of the universe, its design, and its significance. For instance, some religious beliefs attribute the creation of the universe to a divine being or a supernatural force, while scientific theories, such as the Big Bang, provide an empirical explanation. Understanding the universe helps students explore fundamental questions about existence, meaning, and humanity's place within the vastness of all that exists.
