Compare - GCSE Biology Definition

In GCSE Biology, the term 'compare' means to look at two or more things and identify both their similarities and differences. When you compare things in biology, like different species, cells, or processes, you are noting how they are alike and how they are not. For example, you might compare plant and animal cells by looking at their structures and functions, finding that both have cell membranes, but only plant cells have cell walls. Comparing helps you understand the relationship between different biological concepts and see how they connect or vary from one another.
