Mode - GCSE Biology Definition

In GCSE Biology, 'mode' refers to the most frequently occurring value or item in a set of data. For example, if a data set recording the number of petals on different flowers has the numbers 3, 4, 4, 4, and 5, the mode would be 4, as it appears the most times. Understanding the mode helps scientists and students identify patterns or common characteristics in their observations and experiments. It is a simple way to see what is most common in a set of results, which can be useful for analysing and understanding biological data.
