Uncertainty - GCSE Biology Definition

In GCSE Biology, “uncertainty” refers to the range of possible values within which the true value of a measurement lies. It shows how confident you can be about a measurement’s accuracy. When you measure something, like the height of a plant or the temperature of a liquid, your tools may not give perfect results due to limitations in their precision. This means that any measurement has a degree of uncertainty. Understanding uncertainty is important because it helps you judge how reliable your results are and can guide you in drawing conclusions from your experiments.
