In GCSE Mathematics, the sine function refers to using 'sine' both within, and beyond, right-angled triangles. The graph of the sine function is an oscillating curve that repeats itself every 360°, has a maximum value of 1 and a minimum value of -1. The sine function is useful for modelling repetitive patterns, such as tidal waves or the earth's movement around the sun.
