Solid - GCSE Maths Definition

In mathematics, a "solid" is a three-dimensional shape or object. It is a general term and does not mean the object, if say it was a box, has to be filled. A solid is merely referring to the shape of the object. In GCSE Mathematics, understanding the term 'solid' allows you to solve problems by considering related properties of three-dimensional shapes, such as surface area and volume. Examples of solids include cubes, cylinders and spheres.
