An accomplished and dedicated Accounting educator with 17 years of teaching experience in sixth form education, complemented by significant leadership responsibilities.
My teaching approach is structured, knowledge-driven, and student-centred. I produce concise, high-impact revision materials and use memorable acronyms to support long-term retention of key concepts. I strongly advocate mastering core knowledge and technical processes before progressing to exam practice, ensuring students develop both confidence and competence in their subject.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Huddersfield, a PGCE in Business Education from Edge Hill University, and a Master’s degree in Education and Leadership.
Beyond the classroom, I play an active leadership role within my current sixth form college. As Timetable Manager, I oversee the complex coordination of timetables for over 2,300 students and approximately 100 staff members, optimising limited rooming resources with strategic precision and attention to detail. I am also a member of the cross-college Quality Development and Strategy Group, contributing to curriculum planning, quality assurance, and the continuous enhancement of teaching, learning, and assessment across the institution.
