Evidencing team work and role awareness

  • Examiners need to see that you worked as part of a team, not that one person did everything

  • Before the action, agree clear roles within your team

    • For example, one person leads communication, another organises materials, and another records progress

  • Make sure roles are matched to strengths, as this shows planning and awareness

  • During the action, show that everyone carried out their role

    • For example, one student speaking to an audience while another manages resources or collects feedback

  • After the action, reflect on how well roles worked

    • You might explain that some roles needed adjusting or that one role became more important than expected

  • Keep brief evidence, such as notes, photos or messages, to help you describe teamwork clearly in the exam

Evidencing collaboration, negotiation and influence

  • Collaboration means working together towards a shared goal

    • Before the action, this could involve agreeing the final plan and solving problems as a group

  • Negotiation involves compromise and decision-making

    • For example, if team members disagreed on the method, explain how you discussed options and reached agreement

  • Influence is about persuading others to support your action

    • During the action, this might include encouraging students to sign a petition or persuading a teacher to support your idea

  • Use specific examples, not general statements

    • For example, explain what you said, who you spoke to, and how they responded

  • After the action, reflect on how effective your influence was

    • Examiners reward students who can explain what worked, what did not, and why
