HTTP, which stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol, is the set of rules used by computers to communicate over the internet. It allows web browsers and servers to talk to each other so that when you type a web address or click on a link, your computer can fetch the right page from the web. Think of it like a language that lets computers ask for and send information across the World Wide Web. HTTP is essential for loading web pages, watching videos, and many other online activities. Without it, the internet as we know it wouldn't work because computers wouldn't be able to share information.
