The SQL command "SELECT" is used to pick and show specific data from a database. Imagine a database as a big digital library with lots of books full of information. The SELECT command is like asking the librarian to find and give you just the information you are interested in, such as names, dates, or any other details. You can also use SELECT to choose data based on certain conditions, like picking all students who scored above a certain mark in an exam. This command is very important in managing and organising data because it helps us quickly find exactly what we need.
