A web server is a computer system that hosts websites and delivers web pages to users over the internet. It works by receiving requests from a user's web browser, finding the requested web page, and then sending it back to the user's device for display. Think of it as a librarian who fetches the right book for you when you ask for it. Web servers use a special language called HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) to communicate with web browsers. They are essential for allowing people to access websites and online resources from anywhere around the world.
