Location - GCSE Geography Definition

Reviewed by: Bridgette Barrett

Location refers to the specific place or position where something is found on the Earth's surface. In geography, understanding location helps us describe where different places, cities, or landmarks are situated in the world. It can be identified using coordinates, like latitude and longitude, or by explaining what is nearby, such as other cities, rivers, or mountains. Knowing a location helps us understand why certain things happen in that area, such as weather patterns, human activities, or transportation links. This concept is important because it helps us connect and compare different places on our planet.
