Re-Urbanisation - GCSE Geography Definition

Re-urbanisation is the process where people move back into city areas after they have been living in the suburbs or rural places. This often happens because cities start to improve their amenities, like shops, parks, and public transport, making them more attractive. Governments and local councils might invest in updating old buildings or developing new housing to encourage people to return. This process helps to bring more life and activity back into cities, often following a period when many people had moved out due to overcrowding or pollution. Re-urbanisation can also help boost the economy of a city by increasing job opportunities and businesses.
