Stewardship is the responsible management and care of the environment and natural resources. It involves taking actions to protect and preserve our planet for future generations. In geography, stewardship means being mindful about how we use resources like water, land, and energy, making sure to minimise waste and pollution. It encourages sustainable practices, which means meeting our own needs without harming the ability of future people to meet theirs. For example, recycling, conserving water, and supporting renewable energy are all acts of stewardship that help maintain the environment’s health and balance.
