Persecution is the unfair or cruel treatment of a person or group based on their beliefs, religion, race, or other differences. People facing persecution might be bullied, harmed, or denied basic rights and freedoms. In history, many individuals and groups have experienced persecution, like Jewish people during the Holocaust or early Christians in the Roman Empire. Understanding persecution helps us learn about the importance of tolerance and human rights, and why it's crucial to stand up against unfair treatment.
