In mathematics, a plane is a flat, two-dimensional surface. It extends indefinitely in both dimensions. One way to think of a plane is like a huge sheet of paper (laid out flat). In sketching diagrams, plans may often be drawn as parallelograms. Planes allow us to model large, flat surfaces, such as a football pitch or a wall.
