A reflex angle measures more than 180°, but less than 360°. A reflex angle will combine with an acute, or obtuse, angle to make a complete 360° turn/circle. It will always be the larger of two such angles. Imagine cutting a slice (sector) out of a (circular) cake or pizza. The part of the cake or pizza that remains (assuming you take the smaller piece to eat!) will have a reflex angle at the centre. In GCSE Mathematics, understanding reflex angles enables us to measure angles beyond straight lines with a protractor, and solve geometric problems where the larger part of a turn/circle is required, such as bearings.
