A right-angle is an angle measuring exactly 90°. The interior angles of squares and rectangles are right-angles.

In GCSE Mathematics, right-angles can help us to identify properties of shapes and solve problems in geometry. Identifying right-angles is helpful in solving trigonometry problems - identifying a right-angled triangle opens up the world of SOHCAHTOA and Pythagoras' theorem which are used in finding unknown lengths and angles in right-angled triangles.
