Nurture - GCSE Psychology Definition

In GCSE Psychology, "nurture" refers to the environmental factors and experiences that influence a person's behaviour, personality, and development. This includes everything a person is exposed to from birth, such as their family, friends, education, culture, and life experiences.

Nurture is one half of the nature versus nurture debate, where psychologists explore how much of who we are is shaped by our genes (nature) and how much is shaped by our environment (nurture). By understanding nurture, students can learn how various settings and experiences impact human behaviour and development across a person's life.
