In the context of GCSE Religious Studies, 'Brahman' is understood as the ultimate reality or world spirit in Hinduism. Brahman represents the unchanging, infinite, and transcendent essence throughout the universe. Brahman is considered to be beyond human comprehension, without form or attributes. It is the source from which everything originates and to which everything returns. It is often described as the supreme cosmic spirit or consciousness that underpins all existence. Hindus believe that by understanding and experiencing Brahman, individuals can attain moksha, or liberation from the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.
