Values - GCSE Sociology Definition

In GCSE Sociology, 'values' are the beliefs and ideas that people find important and meaningful in their lives. These are the things that guide our decisions and behaviour, like being honest, caring about others, or working hard. Values can vary between different cultures, societies, and even between different groups within a society. They help shape the norms and rules in a community, influencing how people should act and what is seen as right or wrong. For students, understanding values help to explain why people behave the way they do and how societies are organised.
