Exam code: 0450, 0986 & 0264, 0774
Schools in some regions can choose to have their IGCSEs graded using either the A*-G or the 9-1 grading scale. The exam code of the paper you sit depends on which grading scale you have been entered for. If you see the exam code 0450, you are following the older IGCSE Business syllabus and will be graded A*–G, while 0986 uses the same syllabus but with the 9–1 grading scale. From first exams in 2027, the syllabus updates to 0264 (A*–G) or 0774 (9–1); the content is the same, but the code and grade scale differ. Always use past papers and resources that match your code, and check the command words, assessment style and grade descriptors for your specific syllabus.
