About

About

  • Prior to working for Save My Exams, Chris worked in education for five years, before moving into copywriting for educational resource companies.

  • Chris’s love for English literature comes from his family, all of whom have worked in bookselling, and a love of reading was a key part of family life. He also has a love of writing from his degree in Journalism and his published writing on sport and education.

  • As a teacher, Chris spent his first year in a Year 6 classroom, and helped his students to achieve results beyond expectations and their targets.

  • Chris has taught in every school year from Reception to Year 11, and has also worked in education in Australia.

  • He then worked in copywriting and content creation on educational resources.

  • Chris is a keen fan of sport, especially football, and has worked on projects for different football teams, including football commentary for deaf fans in attendance, as well as writing and recording podcasts on West Ham United, as well as other sports.

Education

  • Chris studied Journalism at the University of Lincoln, before gaining Qualified Teaching Status from the Cambridge Teaching Schools Network, and later his PGCE from the University of Northampton.

Expertise

  • Chris has worked in KS3 and KS4 in English Literature and Language, as well as Media Studies.

  • Chris has also taught in primary schools across Cambridgeshire, and has experience tutoring students, especially on exam and revision techniques.

  • He is most passionate when working on creative writing, and his background in radio journalism means he is always keen to teach children how to write for the spoken word.

Published Work

  • Chris has written articles and resources for educational companies, produced radio broadcasts on literacy, interviewed stakeholders of varying levels for live radio, as well as writing on sport and culture for different publications.
