About
Dean West is a UK-based senior educator, examiner and assessment specialist with extensive experience across secondary, post-16 and higher-education settings in the UK. He currently works at Bromsgrove School (Worcestershire), where he is Head of Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS), Head of the Extended Essay (EE), and Subject Coordinator for IB Business Management, alongside teaching Business across IB, BTEC, A Level and GCSE pathways. 

Dean brings an ‘examiner’s mindset’ to teaching and resource writing. He is a Principal Examiner for WJEC and is a Senior Examiner and Trainer at Cambridge Assessment International Education, with additional examining experience for AQA and Edexcel. His experience includes designing and quality-assuring curriculum and assessment, leading standardisation and training, supporting colleagues with assessment practice and helping students develop clear exam technique and effective writing skills. 

Alongside school and examining work, Dean has contributed to national and international assessment projects, including consultancy for Ofqual and the British Council. He has written full IB Business Management papers and mark schemes aligned with the updated syllabus for Save My Exams.

Outside of education, Dean enjoys running and spending time with his family.
