Percentage - GCSE Biology Definition

Percentage is a way of expressing a number as a part of 100. It helps in comparing values and understanding how one amount relates to another. In GCSE Biology, percentages are often used to present results from experiments—for example, comparing how much a plant grows under different conditions. If a plant grows 20% taller in sunlight compared to shade, this means it grew an additional 20 out of every 100 units more in the sun. Using percentages makes it easier to identify differences and patterns in scientific data.
